[What and why] In MC1294528, we announced an increase to the item sync limit for OneDrive on Windows. We are now increasing the same item sync limit for OneDrive on macOS: from 300,000 items to 1 million items per sync instance, per device. This increase is designed to help organizations with large OneDrive and SharePoint libraries sync more content reliably across devices. The capability will be available first in Public Preview for devices enrolled in the Insiders ring, and later in General Availability. Devices that do not meet the minimum hardware and configuration requirements will continue to sync at the existing supported limit of 300,000 items without disruption. [Rollout schedule] Public Preview (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in mid-October 2026 and is expected to complete by late October 2026.
