[What and why]Beginning August 26, 2026, Copilot features in Microsoft Viva Glint are no longer available to Microsoft Entra cross-tenant guest users (B2B collaboration guest users).Copilot in Viva Glint relies on Microsoft Copilot large language model (LLM) services. These underlying services do not currently support cross-tenant guest users. Previously, affected users might have experienced authentication errors or Copilot features that failed to load. To provide a more consistent experience, Viva Glint now hides the affected Copilot features for these users instead of displaying errors. This change is not related to licensing or Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) policy settings.[Rollout schedule]General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout began in late August 2026 and is expected to complete in late September 2026[Impact on your organization]Who is affectedMicrosoft Entra cross-tenant guest users who access Viva Glint in your tenantViva Glint administrators and support teams that support those usersPlatforms and servicesMicrosoft Viva GlintMicrosoft Entra IDWhat will happenFor cross-tenant guest users, the following Copilot capabilities are no longer available in Viva Glint:Copilot Highlights in Team Summary and Executive Summary reportsThe Copilot button and chat panel used for comment summarizationThe Copilot Summarize option in comments panelsThe following experiences are unchanged:SurveysDashboardsReportsComments and related Viva Glint functionalityExisting VFAM policiesViva Glint user roles and permissionsViva Glint licensing requirementsCopilot experiences for users whose accounts are homed in your tenantA Microsoft Copilot license is not required for Copilot in Viva Glint. Assigning a Microsoft Copilot license to a cross-tenant guest user will not restore access to the affected features because the limitation exists in the underlying Copilot service. No administrative configuration changes are required.[Action required and recommendations]No action is required. We recommend that you:Review whether any Microsoft Entra guest users participate in your Viva Glint programs.Inform HR, people analytics, and survey program owners that affected guest users will no longer see Copilot features in Viva Glint.Review existing support requests involving Copilot errors or authentication failures for Viva Glint guest users, as they may be related to this service limitation.[Compliance considerations]No compliance considerations identified, review as appropriate for your organization.
